INVERTBEE SYRUP

Wyefield Apiaries

Based mainly on sugarbeet sugar which has inverted by using a protein enzyme which raises the monosaccharide's to almost 50% of the product, thereby enabling the bees to digest the syrup much more readily than simply feeding ordinary sugar solution.

The sugar is strictly controlled during the inversion and production process in order to achieve a consistent product which is free of neonicatinoids and has a consistent level of dry matter, sugar spectrum and a low level of HMF - less than 30 parts per million (HMF = hydroxyl methyl furfural which is toxic to bees at levels of over 100 parts/million.

Invertbee has a density of 1.37kg/litre and is therefore a thick syrup and SHOULD NOT be diluted with water for doing so would substantially reduce its keeping quality.  It is guaranteed to stay stable in its original form for 12 months and does not necessarily need to be 'capped off' in the hives.  It can therefore be fed much later into the autumn, eg, after heather honey has been taken off the hives.  It is excellent for using as a spring stimulant simply by giving each normal hive one to two litres at a time.

At this stage you want the bees to consume it rather than having a surplus to store in the empty comb required for the queen to expand its brood nest.

This can be supplied to you in a variety of ways:

1. Bulk Tanker

In bulk to your address and pumped into your integrated bulk containers (IBC’s). These usually have a volume capacity of 1000 litres. The syrup has a density of 1.37kg per litre thus a 1000 litre IBC will hold approximately 1.4 tonnes of syrup. Please note minimum drop to one address is 8 tonnes (requiring 6 x 1000 litre IBC’s). (The maximum capacity of a tanker load is 25 tonnes)

2. Single IBC's

These can be delivered in IBC's containing 600, 700, 800, 900 or 1000 litres of syrup. IBC's containing 800 litres or more need to be unloaded at your premises by a forklift or similar. IBC's containing 600 or 700 litres can be delivered using the tailgate of the delivering lorry.  All our palletised products are delivered nationally by Palletline.

3. Jerry Cans

Each plastic jerry can contains 14kg of Invertbee. They can be sold single (when a carriage charge currently – currently £7/container for England & Wales is applicable). Normally sold and distributed by pallet in batches of 20, 40 or 60 jerry cans (a full pallet). Please contact us to discuss your actual requirements and costs.

4. Pouches (New for 2017!)

Boxes of 10 x 1kg plastic bags which are put usually singly on top of the crown board with some small holes pierced on the top of the pack (Queen Bee ‘crown of thorns' ideal for making the holes).  The bees come up through to porter bee escape holes and will drink the pouches dry. You will be amazed how well this works!  Ideal for weaker hives and nuclei.
